Sabzalipour stated that: “What Happened was Absolutely Unexpected!”
Yesterday, JCPOA was supposed to solve our problems, but today, we are supposed to solve its problems!!
Statesmen of our country, especially president Rouhani, unanimously insisted on this belief that JCPOA could solve all problems our country has encountered including political, economic, social, and international, and would change our country into a heaven and utopia. Mr. Rouhani also stated that so many other problems including environmental problems and air pollution, shortage in water resources and its respective issues, livelihood of people, unemployment of the youth, problems related to entry of foreign capital, problems related to industries and improvement of production, revitalization of the banks, and tens of other problems are in relation with result of JCPOA and its execution. He also continued that all problems, issues, and shortages will be solved by initiation of execution of JCPOA and Iran would become a heaven!
Mohammad Reza Sabzalipour, President of the World Trade Center Tehran (Iran) and head of Resistance Economy Policy-Making Council and Private Sector, in the 87th monthly meeting of members of Iran Export Center and within Government Week, through his speeches in presence of managers, holders of industries and capital, economic and university brilliant persons, in relation with JCPOA and its execution procedure stated that: “At the present time, economy is among our priorities and even we can say the first priority of our country and since three years ago, it was supposed that economic problems of Iran will be solved by employing accurate policies and plans by the 11th government. For this reason, by nuclear negotiations some promises were given to people and it was promised that all sanctions will be lifted by end of the negotiations immediately. Hence, a large number of people were happy and hopeful for future believing that their problems will be solved soon”.
He added: “After end of nuclear negotiations and signing agreement by and between Iran and the 5+1 countries, a term was created as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) meaning that joint actions between Iran and the 5+1 countries will be followed in line with making trust and removing obstacles and beginning comprehensive political and economic cooperation, which was an important happening of its kind, provided that the stipulated actions and promises be realized and all provisions of the agreement be executed.”
During nuclear negotiations and when lifting sanctions were being mentioned and while we were approaching to the date of execution of JCPOA, our statesmen, including Mr. Rouhani (the president), his first assistant, head of presidential office, Mr. Zarif, and his assistants, and a number of ministers and members of board of the government, they all emphasized and insisted on a common belief that by end of negotiations and start of the JCPOA execution, all political, economic, social, and international problems of Iran would be solved and execution of JCPOA would change Iran into a heaven and utopia.

Sabzalipour continued that: “We frequently stated that for god sake please don’t relate all problems of the country to execution of JCPOA, since JCPOA by itself will bring no remarkable consequence and please don’t keep on saying that Iran will become a heaven and utopia and JCPOA will solve all our problems at one night, since such speeches and promises would only make people more expecting and if the said promises are not realized, people will definitely lose their trust in the government and the government will have no credit anymore.”
Sabzalipour declared that: “Finally the negotiations are finished and JCPOA has started and all people of Iran or in other words all people of the world were expecting this day and execution of JCPOA. People expected that as it was promised, on the day of execution of JCPOA, all problems be solved and all sanctions be lifted. Now, after months that execution of JCPOA has begun, not only the said promises are not realized and Iran has not become a heaven or utopia, but environmental problems, problems related to water resources, livelihood of people, unemployment of the youth, entry of foreign capitals, problems related to industries and production, and revitalization of the banks are still remained unsolved and more interestingly, some other problems have been added to the previous ones, but still were are waiting to see a miracle and see that JCPOA would solve the problems by itself, and since after elapse of one year no positive happening has occurred so far, finally and fortunately today the government has accepted the answer we had mentioned two years before, that JCPOA would solve no problem by itself.
Also the statesmen by a little attention observed that the United States on no circumstances will not lift the sanctions and international pressures on Iran. And this behavior and action of the United States in creating impediments have stopped correctly execution of JCPOA. Hence, until problems facing JCPOA are not solved, it will not be executed, so it is proved that the JCPOA has faced problems itself so cannot solve problems of other parts.
Before today, JCPOA was supposed to solve our problems, but apparently today we are supposed to solve its problems so that it would be executed!!! And it was not expected at all!!
Head of policy-making council of resistive economy and private sector stated that: “Considering all hopes created between western countries and “wisdom and hope” government of Iran in timely and complete execution of JCPOA, if for any reason, execution of JCPOA faces any obstacle and its execution is delayed, not only a distrust and anxiety atmosphere would govern the Iranian society, but the distrust atmosphere between Iran and western countries, especially the United States and great European countries, would be created and a long wall would be created in the way of economic cooperation and transactions between Iran and the western countries and this gap will not be repaired.
He also added that: “waiting for execution of the nuclear agreement is in such condition that economic and political atmosphere of Iran, in spite of the pressures, has been waiting for this day for years. This is while both supporters and critics of nuclear agreements and negotiations are waiting for execution of JCPOA so that the supporters seek to see result of their optimistic approach and their long-time waiting, since they believe that the only prescription for curing political and economic problems of Iran is conditional to execution of JCPOA, but critics and opponents of nuclear negotiations are waiting for its execution so that when the economic problems are not solved, prove their sayings and in vain optimistic beliefs of the 11th government.
Sabzalipour stated that: “While, execution of JCPOA can be a starting point for development of interactions between Iran and the western countries, its non-execution to the same extent can create a great gap between Iran and western countries and increase distrust atmosphere. Since initiation of economic war of western countries against Iran and imposing nuclear sanctions on Iran, economy of Iran started a recession within a very short time and entered a crisis and the main income source of Iran, which is oil export, was aimed. Financial corruption in the governmental and pseudo-governmental economic body of Iran started an increasing trend due to such sanctions, and welfare of major portion of people, following such deep recession; reach the lowest point within the past decade.
Although execution of JCPOA and lifting sanctions alone, cannot solve fundamental economic problems of Iran, and economy of Iran in order to be developed needs “structural reformations”, correct planning, and appropriate management, exact and complete execution of JCPOA would occasionally result in positive effects in economy of Iran.”
He added that: “For instance, according to report of the World Bank, reduction in costs of transactions of the country, with respect to values and quantity, would bring a benefit of about $15 billion for economy of Iran that would result in relative improvement in welfare of Iranian families, increase in import of capital products, and finally increase in foreign investments in industrial, service, installations, and other fields and also growth in industrial and non-industrial exports up to $50 billion, increase in foreign investments up to at least $5 billion, increase in reserves of National Development Fund and payment of foreign currency facilities to industry and mine section, more than 10% reduction in cost of money transfer, release of tens of billion dollars of blocked assets of Iran and oil incomes, possibility of obtaining low-profit loans from the World Bank, growth of production and increase in oil, gas, and petrochemical products exports to international markets, possibility of renovation of vessels fleet and cargo and passenger ships, improvement of employment index by increase in domestic and foreign investment, cancellation of the probation for buying passenger airplanes and possibility of renovation of the airplane fleet and promoting safety of the flights, removing prohibitions of working with American companies in field of trading carpet and food material, lifting sanction on trading gold and valuable metals, and start of business and industrial cooperation of most European countries with Iranian partners, especially countries who have sent their economic boards to Iran and conducted their initial negotiations.
Sabzalipour by mentioning destiny of JCPOA stated that: “we have spoken so much about if the sanctions will be lifted or not, but what people and economists want to know is that will all sanctions in line with execution of JCPOA be lifted or not. This is while the execution of JCPOA itself is under doubt and still it is probable that it won’t be executed. Since according to what I said before in relation with conditions for lifting sanctions, JCPOA has faced with problems and first its problems shall be solved so that all promises mentioned above be realized and activated. It should be noted that in spite of all steps that Iran has taken and positive measures it has taken toward execution of JCPOA, unfortunately still a major portion of the sanctions are not lifted and the obstacles are not removed.”
President of World Trade Centre of Tehran (Iran) at the end stated that: “Long distance between economy of Iran and European countries and recreation of obstacles in the way of cooperation of Iranian companies with European and American companies and investors, will not completely destroy economy of Iran, but will changes its direction toward surviving and development, so that direction of foreign transactions and cooperation of active parties in economy and holders of Iranian industries would be changed from west direction to east direction and eastern countries and would lead economy of Iran toward countries including China, Russia, India, and South American countries, and in some cases toward south east of Asia. Since during the 10 to 12 years, countries including Russia, China, and India have had the most economic cooperation with Iran and in spite of filling the empty place of western countries in Iran, they also took over the great market of Iran for offering their products, and now by continuance of obstacles in the way of execution of JCPOA, volume of economic cooperation between Iran and countries including China, Russia, India, etc. will be double compared to the past and the negative result of such actions of the United States will damage the western countries most of all.
Hence, by optimistic and also realistic approach we shall move forward and be patient to see result of JCPOA on economy of our country. Of course, I personally believe that rather than trying solve problems of JCPOA to save economy of Iran or establish an economy based on support of countries such as China, Russia, and India, it is more intellectual to stick together and rely on our own abilities and potentials and create a more modern and powerful economy (in line with defined policies of resistance economy) and by our strong relationships, establish a world in which existence of non-existence of the JCPOA and oppositions of the United States would have no other effect on our economy anymore. These all are possible when our statesmen, authorities, and after them, people of Iran and active parties of Iranian economy, with a strong confidence, believe in themselves and not be allured by the western countries, but enter in a negotiation with them by a strong economy and start a win-win relationship and interaction with the western and even eastern countries.”/End of News
